    Visiting Instructor
    University Honors and Scholars Program and Western College Interdisciplinary
    Studies,
    Miami University, 2006
    Supervisor: Dr. Carolyn Haynes, Director of University Honors and Scholars
    Program
    Developed a course to provide students with an opportunity to study both
    theoretical and practical elements of the yogic tradition, with emphasis on
    primary sources (from early Vedanta, Yoga, Samkhya, and Buddhism), modern
    experiential practices (including postures, breathing techniques, and
    meditation), and modern representations and expressions of the philosophies
    (in film and literature). Students design and implement an analysis that
    compares and contrasts the practices, philosophies, and/or representations of
    early compiled texts of South Asia with popular texts and/or practices of
    modern America. This course draws upon my experience in linguistic analysis;
    Sanskrit studies; the theory, practice, and teaching of yoga; and the critical
    analysis of popular culture and media.
