| These 8-week class series are geared to the needs of beginning students and those continuing with a gentle practice. The class can also benefit students who have a vigorous exercise program and lifestyle by bringing balance to their lives. Participate at your pace and ability in basic yoga stretching, breathing, and relaxation techniques. Increase flexibility, relax the body and mind, and renew energy. Bring your own yoga mat; other props will be provided. WINTER SESSION runs from January 26 through March 26. When registering, choose the day best for you from two different 8-week series options: 8 Mondays, 7:20-9:00 pm, January 26 – March 23 (skip March 9) 8 Thursdays, 3:15-4:30 p.m., January 29 – March 26 (skip March 5) Suggestions for Class Arrive early to your first class to complete an intake form Wear layered clothing for comfortable movement and body temperature Eat only lightly before class Location Movement Yoga and Pilates, 12 S. Makeups may be attended (at no charge) in another series within the session you are registered when space is available. Arrive early to get a space. No refunds will be given for unused classes; however, if an individual weekly class is cancelled, a credit into future sessions will be given for pre-paid students (of 4 or 8 weeks of classes). About the Instructor Susan Joseph is certified as an Integrative Yoga Therapy instructor and in (Kripalu) YogaRhythmics, a “yoga-dance combo.” She is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) at the 200-hour level in the Yoga Alliance. Susan received her associates in Human Services in 1989 from NCTC in Mansfield, OH. In 2000 she became certified as a Reiki Master/Teacher (Usui tradition) and has been certifying students in Reiki and giving Reiki sessions since then. Susan has taught yoga and meditation in Troy and the Miami Valley since 1997. Her experience includes teaching the general public in community cultural centers, churches, spa settings, and retreats. She has taught specialized classes for people in assisted living; for people diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and cancer; for those in recovery from drug and alcohol addictions; and for human service employees. She also specializes in classes and workshops in gentle yoga and meditation for stress management and for women’s needs. Her gentler style of yoga comes from her personal health challenges and life experiences, along with a desire to bring greater peace, compassion, and awareness into our world. “As we heal ourselves, we heal the world.” It would be a privilege to share your yoga journey with you. ~Susan |
